John 7:24
Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.
Exercising righteous judgment is shedding light, and not everyone appreciates light. So Jesus also says:
John 3:19-21
19 And this is the judgment, that the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light; for their works were evil. 20 For everyone who does evil hates the light, and does not come to the light, lest his works would be exposed. 21 But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his works may be revealed, that they have been done in God.”
Some do walk in the light, without a plank in their eye and are able to exercise a righteous judgment. It does not mean "hating" on someone or pretending to be perfect. But thank you Jesus! He died to allow all those who follow Him to walk in the light and be alert and vigilant because the world is full of deceivers.
