Trials of Faith - New Wine

Reading: Luke 5:36-39

Bursting old wineskins with new wine isn't pretty. Be attentive to what God is doing in your life and any new direction He is taking you. If you or what He has put in you (however you may see it) can be called "new wine," it's not in your ability to put yourself in new wineskins. It's up to the one who is in control of you and of your circumstances (God, your Father) to place you in what can be called "new wineskins." You will most likely be tempted to take an old path God hasn't called you to. He may very well allow you to go down that path to learn your lesson. You will get false positives as far as God approving you once you decide to go your own way and not wait on Him. Then when you cannot progress any longer, God may let you know that it is He indeed who has stopped you in your tracks. Waiting on God is so very important in being led by God. Whether you get to burst old wineskins or not, your waiting on God is a test that you need to be on board with and pass. It will take what it takes for God to be pleased with your faith and confidence in Him being in control of your life. That's essential if you are to be called God's servant, whatever the purpose He has for your life.
